On this 54th edition of the Podcast, Jim & Liz Bolash of Woodcrafters Do It Yourself Studio are my guests. Located in downtown Arlington Heights, this husband and wife team is bringing their skills and expertise to open a cool new concept, that I believe will be loved.
Coming from a line of carpenters in his family and being a carpenter himself, Jim Bolash is now using his expertise to not only teach but to entertain. Jim sums it up by saying “three hours of fun is what you will have at Woodcrafters”. Not only do you have an awesome night you have a sense of accomplishment when you are done with your project. The perfect compliment to Jim, is his wife Liz Bolash. Liz comes from a phycology background. “The effects of making something yourself is tremendous. It gives the participant a sense of accomplishment” Liz says. Carpentry and phycology together to form a business is not typical, but for these two life long Arlington Heights residents, it’s a perfect recipe for success!
Wood Crafters DIY Studio had it’s grand opening March 5th. Go check out their website to see what all the buzz is about. With their “3 Ways To Craft” Woodcrafters gives you many options for your night of entertainment. They have open workshops, private group events, birthday parties and if you don’t have time in your busy schedule, they will custom make you a piece. These works of art are perfect for gifts or decorative pieces in your home.
We also talk about the lost art of wood crafting in our schools. You remember taking a wood shop class growing up? The skills learned in these classes helped shape us into more well rounded people. Taking a wood shop class built our life skills and helped us learn problem solving skills. Jim explains in the interview the importance of having these skills for our everyday lives. Jim & Liz through Woodcrafters (DIY) Studio hope to team up with local schools to get kids involved with wood shop classes. This is why I LOVE small businesses. These are the reasons why we should be supporting them.
Jim & Liz Bolash couldn’t be happier to be apart of the Arlington Heights business community. Working together with the village, business and the chamber of commerce is what community is all about. It’s how small businesses thrive.
If you are tired of the same old dinner and a movie night out… Be sure to book an event with Woodcrafters Do It Yourself Studio.
