Why do we as a society, subscribe to the NOTION that we need to kick start events in our life on a specific date? Does it make us feel better? I don’t have the answer. The answer lies within each of us.
In my own life, I have never kept to a New Year resolution. Call me undisciplined or call me lazy. But I don’t make my decisions because of the date on a calendar. You know in your heart that it is the right time or not. Traveling down your next path in life is a commitment that should not be taken lightly.
If you would have told me two years ago that I would be hosting a Podcast, Arlington-Prospect Advice Givers, writing a monthly newsletter, C. Steven’s Monthly Home News, releasing my book, ‘The Value Driven Approach to Sell Real Estate’, or writing this weekly email, Weekly Notions… I would have said you were crazy. The commitment was not made after a New Year. It was made when I decided to make a difference. To produce information to help people in the community.
For example, my guests on the Podcast solve problems, hence Advice-Givers. They are experts in their chosen field. Most importantly they are local. They are all committed to participating in the betterment of the community. With a strong community comes prosperity. With prosperity comes giving to the less fortunate. We all benefit by participating in this process.
‘The Value Driven Approach to Sell Real Estate’ is also a problem solver. It documents an approach. An approach to pull more profits out of the sale of your home. Not to mention the book goes through why the real estate industry is so flawed. It is a guide to protecting yourself from car salesmen like tactics. I hope you get yourself a copy. All I ask from you is a small donation of $5 to a charity of your choice. It’s on the honor system.
I have a few plans for next year. I can’t reveal them now. I will be sure to let you know what all the commotion is about. I can tell you this, it will be more ways to enhance are already great community. More great experts on the show, more community involvement, and more ways to get community relevant content to you.
These ideas and plans I speak of are not New Year resolutions. They are my commitments.
If you have an idea today, start working at it NOW. Not on January 2nd. If you wait that means you are already wasting time for implementation.
Let’s not get lost in the message, I am still encouraging you to tip a few drinks to bring in the New Year. I would like to wish nothing but success to all the people who have touched my life and beyond.
