On this 112th episode of the Arlington-Prospect Advice Givers Podcast. JuliAnne Scully co-founder of Ride For Hope Ovarian Cancer Awareness sits down to discuss how she and her sister, co-founder Susan Tullo, turned the love of motorcycles into a charity ride that has donated over a $100,000 to ovarian cancer awareness.

JuliAnne Scully’s story, of winning her battle with ovarian cancer 34 years ago, is as epic as they come. As a 19-year-old girl she didn’t know the effects this disease would have on her life and the Impact it would have on so many others. Today JuliAnne and her sister Sue, also an ovarian cancer survivor, are effecting women’s lives through their Ride For Hope motorcyle charity ride. In partnership with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (OCC) the Ride For Hope organization has raised over $100,000 in just four years!
As a business owner, of JuliAnn’s Salon & Spa in Schaumburg, JuliAnne has incorporated her entrepreneurial spirit into her charitable organization. The Salon & Spa has been helping those battling cancer by providing wigs to those who have lost their hair. “Attitude is everything,” JuliAnne insists. It’s why her business, of making people look and feel good, has been the perfect fit working together with the Ride For Hope organization.
JuliAnn’s biggest accomplishment isn’t the money raised for ovarian cancer, it’s the awareness she has brought to so many women. The organization stresses the importance of knowing the signs and symptoms this terrible disease has. Everyone who attends the event will get a card alerting you of the symptoms. The signs and symptoms is what saved her sister, Susan’s, life.

On Sunday July 28th the 5th annual Ride For Hope charity ride will be taking place at the Schaumburg Boomers stadium. For all motorcycle riders registration & breakfast begins at 8am. Kick stands are up at 11:30 for the ride and the after party begins at 12:30 at the Boomers stadium. Everyone is invited to this great event, biker or not, so please come out and enjoy great food and entertainment. And more importantly give your support to this great cause.
JuliAnne hopes to see you all there to help in the battle.
