On this 96th edition of the Podcast, Frank Starkey the owner and founder of Arlington Coin shares his 40 years of knowledge and expertise. In todays fast moving coin market, the coin collector needs someone they can trust to evaluate and appraise their valuable coin collection. There’s few better than Frank Starkey.
After serving in Vietnam, Frank Starkey didn’t know what to do for a living. After looking around for a job he fell into a position in Chicago learning everything there is to know about coins. The rest is history when Frank opened up Arlington Coin.
Frank has traded and collected many different types of memorabilia. From Beanie Babies, baseball cards and sports memorabilia there aren’t many things he hasn’t seen. Frank also shares a great story about “Mr.Cub” himself Ernie Banks in this entertaining interview. This is one you won’t want to miss.
The ability to pivot in an out of many different markets has been a recipe for success over the years. Frank is truly, what you call, a contrarian in all forms. His entrepreneurial spirit can be felt by his passion. Working beside his daughter-in-law, now, he says, “I quit when she quits.” I don’t see that happening for a long time.
Frank Starkey’s love of the game is what’s kept him in business and what will keep Arlington Coin going for many years to come. Located across the street from the Arlington Heights train station on Northwest Hwy. you can’t beat the location. Frank says, “If you have an honest question, I will give you an honest answer.”
